Prophecy

Direct

grows out of · look and live

Jesus names the link himself. The bitten Israelite was healed not by effort but by looking at the thing lifted up; John 3 makes that the shape of faith in the crucified Son of Man.

Sacrifice

Direct

points forward to · lifted from the earth

John uses 'lifted up' three times, and says plainly that it signifies the kind of death Jesus would die.

Kingship

Direct

grows out of · the title Jesus used

'Son of Man' is Jesus' habitual self-description, and John 3 attaches Daniel's glorious figure to a pole and a crucifixion.
