Cyrus in the Bible

Cyrus takes Babylon and issues the decree that sends Judah home with the temple vessels. Isaiah names him as God's shepherd and anointed; the Cyrus Cylinder records the same imperial policy of restoring deported peoples and their sanctuaries.
