Jeremiah in the Bible
Jeremiah is called young and told he will be opposed by everyone, and he is: beaten, put in stocks, lowered into a cistern. He watches Jerusalem fall, buys a field as a sign that the land will be lived in again, and promises a new covenant written on the heart.
