Shiloh in the Bible
Shiloh houses the tabernacle through the period of the judges, and is where Hannah prays and Samuel grows up. Its destruction becomes Jeremiah's warning to anyone who trusts the temple as a lucky charm.
Archaeology
Excavation has found a substantial Iron Age I settlement destroyed by fire in the mid-eleventh century BC, consistent with the biblical picture of Shiloh's end.
