Now it came to pass, as 1732 sat3427 in his house1004, that 1732 said559 to 5416 the prophet5030, Lo, I dwell3427 in an house1004 of cedars730, but the 727 of the 1285 of the LORD3068 remaineth under curtains3407. Then 5416 said559 unto 1732, Do6213 all that is in thine heart3824; for God430 is with thee. And it came to pass the same night3915, that 1697 of God430 came to 5416, saying559, Go3212 and tell559 1732 my servant5650, Thus saith559 the LORD3068, Thou shalt not build1129 me an house1004 to dwell in3427: For I have not dwelt in3427 an house1004 since the day3117 that I brought up5927 3478 unto this day3117; but have gone from tent168 to tent168, and from one 4908 to another. have gone: Heb. have been Wheresoever I have walked1980 with all 3478, spake1696 I a word1697 to any259 of the judges8199 of 3478, whom I commanded6680 to feed7462 my people5971, saying559, Why have ye not built1129 me an house1004 of cedars730? Now therefore thus shalt thou say559 unto my servant5650 1732, Thus saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts6635, I took3947 thee from the sheepcote5116, even from following310 the 6629, that thou shouldest be ruler5057 over my people5971 3478: from following: Heb. from after And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked1980, and have cut off3772 all thine enemies341 from before6440 thee, and have made6213 thee a name8034 like the name8034 of the great men1419 that are in the earth776. Also I will ordain7760 a place4725 for my people5971 3478, and will plant5193 them, and they shall dwell7931 in their place, and shall be moved7264 no more; neither shall the children1121 of wickedness5766 waste1086 them any more3254, as at the beginning7223, And since the time3117 that I commanded6680 judges8199 to be over my people5971 3478. Moreover I will subdue3665 all thine enemies341. Furthermore I tell5046 thee that the LORD3068 will build1129 thee an house1004. And it shall come to pass, when thy days3117 be expired4390 that thou must go3212 to be with thy fathers1, that I will raise up6965 thy seed2233 after310 thee, which shall be of thy sons1121; and I will establish3559 his kingdom4438. He shall build1129 me an house1004, and I will stablish3559 his throne3678 for5704 ever5769. I will be his father1, and he shall be my son1121: and I will not take5493 my 2617 away5493 from him, as I took5493 it from him that was before6440 thee: But I will settle5975 him in mine house1004 and in my kingdom4438 for ever5769: and his throne3678 shall be established3559 for5704 evermore5769. According to all these words1697, and according to all this 2377, so did 5416 speak1696 unto 1732. And 1732 the king4428 came935 and sat3427 before6440 the LORD3068, and said559, Who am I, O LORD3068 God430, and what is mine house1004, that thou hast brought935 me hitherto1988? And yet this was a small thing6994 in thine eyes5869, O God430; for thou hast also spoken1696 of thy servant's5650 house1004 for a great while to come7350, and hast regarded7200 me according to the estate8448 of a man120 of high degree4609, O LORD3068 God430. What can3254 1732 speak more3254 to thee for the honour3519 of thy servant5650? for thou knowest3045 thy servant5650. And what one259 nation1471 in the earth776 is like thy people5971 3478, whom God430 went1980 to redeem6299 to be his own people5971, to make7760 thee a name8034 of greatness1420 and terribleness3372, by driving out1644 nations1471 from before6440 thy people5971, whom thou hast redeemed6299 out of 4714? For thy people5971 3478 didst thou make5414 thine own people5971 for5704 ever5769; and thou, LORD3068, becamest their God430. Therefore now, LORD3068, let the thing1697 that thou hast spoken1696 concerning thy servant5650 and concerning his house1004 be established539 for5704 ever5769, and do6213 as thou hast said1696. Let it even be established539, that thy name8034 may be magnified1431 for5704 ever5769, saying559, The LORD3068 of hosts6635 is the God430 of 3478, even a God430 to 3478: and let the house1004 of 1732 thy servant5650 be established3559 before6440 thee.
