1732 therefore departed3212 thence, and escaped4422 to the cave4631 5725: and when his brethren251 and all his father's1 house1004 heard8085 it, they went down3381 thither to him. And every one376 that was in distress4689, and every one376 that was in debt5378, and every one376 that was discontented4751 5315, gathered6908 themselves unto him; and he became a captain8269 over them: and there were with him about four702 hundred3967 men376. was in debt: Heb. had a creditor discontented: Heb. bitter of soul And 1732 went3212 thence to Mizpeh4708 of 4124: and he said559 unto the king4428 of 4124, Let my father1 and my mother517, I pray thee, come forth3318, and be with you, till I know3045 what God430 will do6213 for me. And he brought5148 them before6440 the king4428 of 4124: and they dwelt3427 with him all the while3117 that 1732 was in the hold4686. And the prophet5030 1410 said559 unto 1732, Abide3427 not in the hold4686; depart3212, and get935 thee into the land776 of 3063. Then 1732 departed3212, and came935 into the forest3293 of Hareth2802. Then the king4428 sent7971 to call7121 Ahimelech288 the priest3548, the son1121 of Ahitub285, and all his father's1 house1004, the priests3548 that were in Nob5011: and they came935 all of them to the king4428. And 7586 said559, Hear8085 now, thou son1121 of Ahitub285. And he answered559, Here I am, my lord113. Here: Heb. Then Ahimelech288 answered6030 the king4428, and said559, And who is so faithful539 among all thy servants5650 as 1732, which is the king's4428 son in law2860, and goeth5493 at thy bidding4928, and is honourable3513 in thine house1004? And Doeg1673 the Edomite130 turned5437, and he fell6293 upon the priests3548, and slew4191 that day3117 fourscore8084 and five2568 persons376 that did wear5375 a linen906 646. And Nob5011, the city5892 of the priests3548, smote5221 he with the edge6310 of the 2719, both men376 and women802, children5768 and sucklings3243, and oxen7794, and asses2543, and 7716, with the edge6310 of the 2719. And one259 of the sons1121 of Ahimelech288 the son1121 of Ahitub285, named8034 Abiathar54, escaped4422, and fled1272 after310 1732. And Abiathar54 shewed5046 1732 that 7586 had slain2026 the LORD'S3068 priests3548. And 1732 said559 unto Abiathar54, I knew3045 it that day3117, when Doeg1673 the Edomite130 was there, that he would surely5046 tell5046 7586: I have occasioned5437 the death of all the persons5315 of thy father's1 house1004. Abide3427 thou with me, fear3372 not: for he that seeketh1245 my life5315 seeketh1245 thy life5315: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard4931.
