And again3254 the anger639 of the LORD3068 was kindled2734 against 3478, and he moved5496 1732 against them to say559, Go3212, number4487 3478 and 3063. For the king4428 said559 to 3097 the captain8269 of the host2428, which was with him, Go now through7751 all the tribes7626 of 3478, from 1835 even to 884, and number6485 ye the people5971, that I may know3045 the number4557 of the people5971. Go: or, Compass And 3097 said559 unto the king4428, Now the LORD3068 thy God430 add3254 unto the people5971, how many soever1992 they be, an hundredfold3967 6471, and that the eyes5869 of my lord113 the king4428 may see7200 it: but why doth my lord113 the king4428 delight2654 in this thing1697? Notwithstanding the king's4428 word1697 prevailed2388 against 3097, and against the captains8269 of the host2428. And 3097 and the captains8269 of the host2428 went out3318 from the presence6440 of the king4428, to number6485 the people5971 of 3478. So 1410 came935 to 1732, and told5046 him, and said559 unto him, Shall seven7651 years8141 of famine7458 come935 unto thee in thy land776? or wilt thou flee5127 three7969 months2320 before6440 thine enemies6862, while they pursue7291 thee? or that there be three7969 days'3117 pestilence1698 in thy land776? now advise3045, and see7200 what answer1697 I shall return7725 to him that sent7971 me. And 1732 said559 unto 1410, I am in a great3966 strait6887: let us fall5307 now into the hand3027 of the LORD3068; for his mercies7356 are great7227: and let me not fall5307 into the hand3027 of man120. are great: or, are many So the LORD3068 sent5414 a pestilence1698 upon 3478 from the morning1242 even to the time6256 appointed4150: and there died4191 of the people5971 from 1835 even to 884 seventy7657 thousand505 men376. And when the angel4397 stretched out7971 his hand3027 upon 3389 to destroy7843 it, the LORD3068 repented5162 him of the evil7451, and said559 to the angel4397 that destroyed7843 the people5971, It is enough7227: stay7503 now thine hand3027. And the angel4397 of the LORD3068 was by the threshingplace1637 of Araunah728 the Jebusite2983. And 1732 spake559 unto the LORD3068 when he saw7200 the angel4397 that smote5221 the people5971, and said559, Lo, I have sinned2398, and I have done wickedly5753: but these 6629, what have they done6213? let thine hand3027, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's1 house1004. And 1410 came935 that day3117 to 1732, and said559 unto him, Go up5927, rear6965 an altar4196 unto the LORD3068 in the threshingfloor1637 of Araunah728 the Jebusite2983. Araunah: Heb. Araniah And 1732, according to the saying1697 of 1410, went up5927 as the LORD3068 commanded6680. And Araunah728 looked8259, and saw7200 the king4428 and his servants5650 coming 5674 toward him: and Araunah728 went out3318, and bowed7812 himself before the king4428 his face639 upon the ground776. And Araunah728 said559, Wherefore is my lord113 the king4428 come935 to his servant5650? And 1732 said559, To buy7069 the threshingfloor1637 of thee, to build1129 an altar4196 unto the LORD3068, that the plague4046 may be stayed6113 from the people5971. And Araunah728 said559 unto 1732, Let my lord113 the king4428 take3947 and offer up5927 what seemeth good2896 unto him5869: behold7200, here be oxen1241 for burnt sacrifice5930, and threshing instruments4173 and other instruments3627 of the oxen1241 for wood6086. All these things did Araunah728, as a king4428, give5414 unto the king4428. And Araunah728 said559 unto the king4428, The LORD3068 thy God430 accept7521 thee. And the king4428 said559 unto Araunah728, Nay; but I will surely7069 buy7069 it of thee at a price4242: neither will I offer5927 burnt offerings5930 unto the LORD3068 my God430 of that which doth cost me nothing2600. So 1732 bought7069 the threshingfloor1637 and the oxen1241 for fifty2572 8255 of silver3701. And 1732 built1129 there an altar4196 unto the LORD3068, and offered5927 burnt offerings5930 and peace offerings8002. So the LORD3068 was intreated6279 for the land776, and the plague4046 was stayed6113 from 3478.
