And he shall not look8159 to the altars4196, the work4639 of his hands3027, neither shall respect7200 that which his fingers676 have made6213, either the groves842, or the images2553. images: or, sun images In that day3117 shall his strong4581 cities5892 be as a forsaken5800 bough2793, and an uppermost branch534, which they left5800 because6440 of the children1121 of 3478: and there shall be desolation8077. Because thou hast forgotten7911 the God430 of thy 3468, and hast not been mindful2142 of the rock6697 of thy strength4581, therefore shalt thou plant5193 pleasant5282 plants5194, and shalt set2232 it with strange2114 slips2156: In the day3117 shalt thou make thy plant5194 to grow7735, and in the morning1242 shalt thou make thy seed2233 to flourish6524: but the harvest7105 shall be a heap5067 in the day3117 of grief2470 and of desperate605 sorrow3511. a heap: or, removed in the day of inheritance, and there shall be deadly sorrow Woe1945 to the multitude1995 of many7227 people5971, which make a noise1993 like the noise1993 of the seas3220; and to the rushing7588 of nations3816, that make a rushing like the rushing7582 of mighty3524 waters4325! multitude: or, noise mighty: or, many The nations3816 shall rush7582 like the rushing7588 of many7227 waters4325: but God shall rebuke1605 them, and they shall flee5127 far off4801, and shall be chased7291 as the chaff4671 of the mountains2022 before6440 the wind7307, and like a rolling thing1534 before6440 the whirlwind5492. a rolling: or, thistledown And behold at eveningtide6256 6153 trouble1091; and before the morning1242 he is not.
