Now it came to pass, when Adonizedek139 king4428 of 3389 had heard8085 how3588 3091 had taken3920 5857, and had utterly destroyed2763 it; as he had done6213 to 3405 and her king4428, so he had done6213 to 5857 and her king4428; and how the inhabitants3427 of 1391 had made peace7999 with 3478, and were among7130 them; That they feared3372 greatly3966, because 1391 was a great1419 city5892, as one259 of the royal4467 cities5892, and because it was greater1419 than 5857, and all the men582 thereof were mighty1368. royal: Heb. cities of the kingdom Wherefore Adonizedek139 king4428 of 3389 sent7971 unto Hoham1944 king4428 of 2275, and unto Piram6502 king4428 of Jarmuth3412, and unto Japhia3309 king4428 of 3923, and unto Debir1688 king4428 of Eglon5700, saying559, Come up5927 unto me, and help5826 me, that we may smite5221 1391: for it hath made peace7999 with 3091 and with the children1121 of 3478. Therefore the five2568 kings4428 of the 567, the king4428 of 3389, the king4428 of 2275, the king4428 of Jarmuth3412, the king4428 of 3923, the king4428 of Eglon5700, gathered themselves together622, and went up5927, they and all their hosts4264, and encamped2583 before 1391, and made war3898 against it. And the men582 of 1391 sent7971 unto 3091 to the camp4264 to 1537, saying559, Slack7503 not thy hand3027 from thy servants5650; come up5927 to us quickly4120, and save3467 us, and help5826 us: for all the kings4428 of the 567 that dwell3427 in the mountains2022 are gathered together6908 against us. Then 3091 passed5674 from Makkedah4719, and all 3478 with him, unto Libnah3841, and fought3898 against Libnah3841: And the LORD3068 delivered5414 it also, and the king4428 thereof, into the hand3027 of 3478; and he smote5221 it with the edge6310 of the 2719, and all the souls5315 that were therein; he let7604 none remain8300 in it; but did6213 unto the king4428 thereof as he did6213 unto the king4428 of 3405. And 3091 passed5674 from Libnah3841, and all 3478 with him, unto 3923, and encamped2583 against it, and fought3898 against it: And the LORD3068 delivered5414 3923 into the hand3027 of 3478, which took3920 it the second8145 day3117, and smote5221 it with the edge6310 of the 2719, and all the souls5315 that were therein, according to all that he had done6213 to Libnah3841. Then Horam2036 king4428 of 1507 came up5927 to help5826 3923; and 3091 smote5221 him and his people5971, until he had left7604 him none remaining8300. And from 3923 3091 passed5674 unto Eglon5700, and all 3478 with him; and they encamped2583 against it, and fought3898 against it: And they took3920 it that day3117, and smote5221 it with the edge6310 of the 2719, and all the souls5315 that were therein he utterly destroyed2763 that day3117, according to all that he had done6213 to 3923. And 3091 went up5927 from Eglon5700, and all 3478 with him, unto 2275; and they fought3898 against it: And they took3920 it, and smote5221 it with the edge6310 of the 2719, and the king4428 thereof, and all the cities5892 thereof, and all the souls5315 that were therein; he left7604 none remaining8300, according to all that he had done6213 to Eglon5700; but destroyed2763 it utterly, and all the souls5315 that were therein. And 3091 returned7725, and all 3478 with him, to Debir1688; and fought3898 against it: And he took3920 it, and the king4428 thereof, and all the cities5892 thereof; and they smote5221 them with the edge6310 of the 2719, and utterly destroyed2763 all the souls5315 that were therein; he left7604 none remaining8300: as he had done6213 to 2275, so he did6213 to Debir1688, and to the king4428 thereof; as he had done6213 also to Libnah3841, and to her king4428. So 3091 smote5221 all the country776 of the hills2022, and of the south5045, and of the vale8219, and of the springs794, and all their kings4428: he left7604 none remaining8300, but utterly destroyed2763 all that breathed5397, as the LORD3068 God430 of 3478 commanded6680. And 3091 smote5221 them from Kadeshbarnea6947 even unto 5804, and all the country776 of 1657, even unto 1391. And all these kings4428 and their land776 did 3091 take3920 at one259 time6471, because the LORD3068 God430 of 3478 fought3898 for 3478. And 3091 returned7725, and all 3478 with him, unto the camp4264 to 1537.
