Abraham's firstborn son · Patriarchs

Ishmael in the Bible

Born to Hagar when the promise seemed slow in coming, Ishmael is circumcised in Abraham's household and then sent away with his mother. God's promise to make him a great nation is kept; he and Isaac bury their father together.
